Is there a minimum number of items I must consign?

No, Motley's will gladly accept one item or an entire collection or estate.

Does Motley's take all items?

We are a one stop shop to assist with the sale of everything from antiques of every description, real estate and classic to late model automobiles. We hold specialty auctions throughout the year featuring firearms, jewelry, clocks/pocket watches, silver and more.

Where are the auctions held and when?

Motley's Antiques and Estates Auctions are generally held every month at our Gallery at 4402 W. Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23230, but with some prime estates we will hold an on site auction.

How long will it take to sell my property at auction?

The consignment, sale and banking of the proceeds of your sale usually occurs withing eight weeks but can be sooner. After the auction, proceeds are quickly sent to the consignor usually within 15 business days after the sale of your personal property.

Wouldn't I be better off selling my property on my own?

Your property will be marketed and advertised very intensively in national specialty publications and to a global audience through the Internet. It will be featured in our auction catalog that is mailed to thousands of interested buyers. As a result, auctioned items regularly achieve sale prices greater than what you might have achieved selling it directly on your own.

Who do you sell for?

Motley's sells on a regular basis for law firms, banks and trust companies across the mid-Atlantic including Wells Fargo, BB&T, The Trust Company of VA, Hunton & Williams, and McGuire Woods, among others.
